3D CG Titles for the 2025 Documentary Concert film by Björk. Created in partnership with Onsight, who were handling the online and finishing on this project. I came on board to manage and develop the creation of the opening title sequence for the film, based on the 3D models created for the album art. I brought onboard two fantastic 3D artists who I have collaborated with before. Gary Mellor (from BlueSpec Media) did the animation on the organic letterforms, bringing them to life using Blender. This sequence then flowed into a video version of the 360 VR experience created for her “Family” exhibition. The film initially used a screen capture of the original VR experience (created in Unity) but it was felt that the fidelity of the capture wasn’t good enough for cinema or IMAX. So for this I got Simon Smalley (from Small Animations) to rebuild the entire sequence, using Lightwave3D and Octane render.
This was a fantastic project to work on, with one of my favourite Artists. Björk is truly inspirational. And working on a project for her feels like something I’ve wanted to tick off on my bucket list for a long time (especially as I never worked on any of her music videos back in the 90s or 00s!)
